What we did
  • Flute
    • Working on establishing good sound and fingerings on Bb, C, and D
      • Using lines 1, 2, 3 and 7 as material
        • Playing whole note tones on the pitches written.

  • Brass
    • Nothing achieved or assessed due to no instrument brought
    • Little progress from last week. I am unsure how to help him if he will not work at home

  • Alto Saxophones
    • Assessed performance targets for Line 25
    • Move forward to line 28 (complete the composition), line 30 and 31 to establish the E; line 34 to utilize E and 2/4 time


  • Percussion - (No instrument today)
    • Continue with Haskell-Harr lesson 7 which contain 8th note rhythms
    • Began reading music that has Snare Drum and Bass Drum parts
      • Tyra is counting real well; I did not assess her grip and stroke today
      • Paige needs to be guided to establish a better grip and bounce stroke.
        • Count and clap the rhythms so that they are more solid before playing.


What to do
  • Percussion need to achieve mastery of performance targets on lines 16 and 17 on mallets and Haskell-Harr lesson 7
  • Brass: achieve mastery of performance targets on lines 16, 17 and 23
  • Flute: Assess line 7
  • Sax: Meet performance targets on lines 28, 30, 31, and 34
